ancora YACHTFESTIVAL: The gateway to water sports

There is no better and more informative way to start the water sports season than at the 15th edition of Germany's largest in-water boat show. From May 31 to June 2, the ancora YACHTFESTIVAL program at the jetties, on the beach, in the outdoor area and in the exhibition hall of the 5-star ancora marina will immerse visitors in the world of water sports.

Yachtsport-Enthusiasten flanieren durch den Hafen und lassen sich inspirieren von den über 160 ausgestellten Yachten, die sich mit vielen Premieren in ihrem natürlichen Element in voller Schönheit präsentieren. Aussteller in 100 Pagoden zeigen ihre neuesten Produkte und die aktuellen Entwicklungen der Technik in Sachen Ausrüstung und Zubehör. Workshops, Vorführungen und Vorträge auf den Bühnen in der Ausstellungshalle und an der Wasser-Eventfläche geben Einblicke in Technik und Sicherheit und entführen zu exotischen Zielen dieser Welt. Und bei den Schnupperkursen am Strand für die Fun-Sportler und an der Eventfläche für die Segler und Motorboot-Fahrer können erfahrene Wassersportler ihre Kenntnisse erweitern und Einsteiger die ersten Touren auf der Ostsee unternehmen. Für drei tolle Tage an der See wird auch Musik nicht fehlen, und der Duft von kulinarischen Köstlichkeiten der Food-Trucks mischt sich mit der frischen Meeresbrise.

"We are thrilled with how the ancora YACHTFESTIVAL has developed in recent years and are delighted to be able to present the 16,000 visitors we are expecting not only a beautiful yacht festival, but also sailing yachts and motorboats in a variety that has never been seen here before," says Heiko Zimmermann, founder and skipper of the organizer Yachtfestival 365 GmbH. All major manufacturer brands are represented and come to Neustadt with boats and yachts from 5 to 24 meters in length. The unique thing about the In-Water Boat Show is that the yachts are presented at the ancora YACHTFESTIVAL on the jetty fully equipped and rigged. Visitors can see the boats ready to set sail.

Entertainment and information

Those interested can even get right out on the water in Neustadt. In cooperation with the German Sailing Association, the Schleswig-Holstein Sailing Association and local sailing clubs, the ancora YACHTFESTIVAL presents sailing days. Under expert guidance, sailing enthusiasts can try their hand at sailing on various yachts provided. In addition to the youth camp, J/99 cruising boats can also be sailed. As a partner of the In-Water Boat Show, the Motoryachtverband Schleswig-Holstein offers children's excursions with expert guidance for budding motorboat drivers.

Of course, the ancora YACHTFESTIVAL will also be taking up the latest trends. Various fun sports can be tried out on the yacht festival beach: Wing surfing, windsurfing, eFoiling, beach cat sailing and stand up paddling will provide fun on the water for the younger generation and the young at heart.

"These offers are a real highlight alongside the range of yachts on display. In cooperation with the associations, we also want to introduce beginners to water sports so that they can experience this world of adventure," says Zimmermann.

The event program includes over 80 events on the two stages and the event areas. Art Maritim in the exhibition hall, music acts on the stage and demonstrations on the event area on the quay wall, workshops and lectures. During the Boat Show, nautical expertise, trimming and safety tips are served up in the most beautiful ambience, alternating with the best entertainment. The Hamburg ancora YACHTFESTIVAL offers a packed program every day from 11 am to 6 pm. The highlight of the entertainment will be the harbor night with live music by the band "just4fun" on Saturday from 6 pm.

The 15th ancora YACHTFESTIVAL will focus on the topics of weather, climate and safety. On Saturday, Sebastian Wache from WetterWelt in Kiel will show how the climate has changed in recent years and what weather scenarios this means for water sports enthusiasts. Together with Dirk Hilcken from insurance expert Pantaenius, he will focus on a current example that all Baltic Sea water sports enthusiasts will remember: the Baltic Sea hurricane with its flooding last fall. Hilcken can thus vividly illustrate what can happen not only at sea, but also in harbors, and which insurance protects against nasty financial surprises.

Oliver Ochse has made his subject how to deal with wind and weather while sailing. In his lectures, the sailing expert shows which sails are best and when, and gives trimming tips for the yacht.

Sailboats

Sailing sports from basic to luxury - this range can be seen at the ancora YACHTFESTIVAL. "The range of sailing yachts is fantastic. The fact that we have ten premieres in the sailing sector makes us proud. And the fact that the Beneteau company is represented with a large fleet in the year of its 140th birthday confirms our course in the presentation of boats and ships," says Heiko Zimmermann, who will be able to present the largest variety of sailing boats in Northern Europe at the In-Water Boat Show.

The Lis-Family proves that water sports are also possible on a smaller budget - a five-meter-long dinghy cruiser from Aachen-based company Gade Kunststofftechnik, which can be a safe companion for two people on tours on inland lakes and coastal areas. For those who like it a little bigger and want more space in the cabin, the six and a half meter Haber yachts or the IF boat are the right choice. Like the Dutch-built Pointer 25, these boats cater to the market for small, easy-to-handle yachts. The Pointer is also a perfect boat for small tours in areas such as the Ijsselmeer or the Baltic Sea.

The counter-design to the small sailing boats that will be on display in the 5-star marina is the flagship from Hallberg Rassy. With an overall length of 22.22 meters, the Hallberg Rassy 69 is the largest yacht ever built by the traditional Swedish shipyard. The elegant Swede can be sailed by a family crew at the touch of a button. The yacht was shown for the first time at the beginning of the year and will be presented for the first time at an in-water boat show at the ancora YACHTFESTIVAL. Six other Hallberg Rassys between 34 and 44 feet in length will also be on display.

The BM53 DS from the Berckemeyer design studio is also striking. The aluminum yacht goes powerfully through the waves, offers a lot of sailing performance and also high living comfort and lots of light in the cabin. A striking feature is the lifting keel, which can reduce the draft from 3.0 to 1.4 meters. The Solaris 44, the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 410 and the Grand Soleil 40 Performance, which will be presented by Luxury Marine (Solaris), Gründl Bootsimport (Jeanneau) and Diamond Yachts (Grand Soleil), are characterized by the best sailing characteristics without compromising on comfortable cruising. All three yachts combine the pleasure of sailing a sporty cruise in a pleasant way.

Diamonds Yachts also has the two elegant Saffers at the jetty. The SE 24 lite is not only beautiful, the daysailer also impresses with its sustainability concept with integrated solar cells, which not only supply the electric drive, but also the other on-board systems, making the yacht self-sufficient. Its big sister, the SE 32 lite, is the epitome of a luxury daysailer. Comfort and easy sailing come together here. The yacht can be sailed solo, but also offers space for up to ten people in the cockpit.

Der Charme von schlanken Linien ohne große Aufbauten zeigt sich auch in der Arcona 50, die das erste Mal zur In-Water Boat Show in Neustadt präsentiert wird. Der Performance Cruiser ist das aktuelle Flaggschiff der Werft und zeigt die neuen Linien der schwedischen Bootsbauer. Die Arcona 50 wird in Neustadt von AP Yachting gezeigt, die auch noch drei Bavarias präsentieren und damit den Bogen von Schweden nach Deutschland spannen. Natürlich sind neben der Bavaria C38, Bavaria C46 und Bavaria Cruiser 37 auch die Produkte aus der anderen deutschen Großwerft vertreten. Nordlicht Yachting zeigt gleich drei Hanse-Yachten. Mit der Hanse 315, Hanse 388 und Hanse 460 wird eine Range von Yachten mit 9,60 bis über 14 Meter der Werft aus Greifswald gezeigt, die für Reisen in der Ostsee, aber auch dem Mittelmeer bestens geeignet sind. Ein breites Portfolio aus deutscher Produktion hat Schwern Yachten an der Steganlage präsent. Neben der Dehler 34 und der Dehler 38 SQ sowie den beiden Bentes (24 und 28) sticht vor allem die Bente 39 hervor, die in Neustadt als Premiere dabei ist. Die 39er setzt das Konzept der kleineren Schwestern fort: optimale Segeleigenschaften, funktionale Ausstattung und die moderne Interpretation von Wohn- und Funktionsbereichen.
Neben den deutschen Werften wird natürlich auch die weltgrößte Werft für Freizeitboote im Jahr ihres 140. Geburtstags nicht fehlen. Die französische Beneteau-Gruppe ist über ihren Händler BM-Yachting vertreten mit den schnellen First- (44 und 36) sowie den eleganten Oceanis-Yachten. Die Oceanis 34.1 und 37.1 spiegeln die neuen Designs der Werft wider, die bei großzügigem Platzangebot beste Segeleigenschaften liefern. Die Oceanis 37.1 wird dabei als Premiere dem Publikum in Neustadt präsentiert.

Neben den Monohulls zeigt BM-Yachting auch den Katamaran Excess 11. Der 37 Fuß lange Kat ist für Langfahrten entworfen und kann die Eigner von der Ostsee in die entlegensten Ecken dieser Welt bringen. Luxus ohne Abstriche bieten zudem die drei weiteren Segel-Katamarane. Auf der Astrea 42 von Fountain Pajot oder den beiden Lagoon-Katamaranen 42 und 52 bleibt auch mit großer Familie oder Crew kein Wunsch unerfüllt, um großartige Tage auf See oder in idyllischen Ankerbuchten zu verbringen. 
Langfahrten sind auch die Spezialitäten der Yachten aus dem Hause Sirius. Die Plöner Werft hat sich auf individuelle Ausbauten ihrer Deckssalonyachten spezialisiert und stellt zur Boat Show in Neustadt die Sirius 35 DS und die 40 DS vor. In ebendiesem Segment des Segelsports sind auch die Najad-Yachten aus Schweden anzusiedeln. Mit der 395 AC und der 451 CC haben die Besucher die Chance, den Komfort und das Gefühl auf einer Achter- und einer Mittel-Cockpit-Yacht zu vergleichen. Die Mittel-Cockpit-Yacht 451 CC kommt ganz frisch aus dem Konstruktionsbüro und der Werft und wird in der ancora Marina als Premiere gezeigt.

Premiere ist auch das Stichwort für die Sunbeam 29.1. Die 9-Meter-Yacht aus Österreich definiert den Begriff eines Daysailer neu und erweitert ihn zum Weekender. Flexibilität zeichnet die Sunbeam 29.1 aus, die mit diversen Optionen im Interieur individuell gestaltet werden kann und mit dem Schwenkkiel zudem auf viele Revieren einsetzbar ist. Gezeigt wird die Yacht von Nordic Yachting, die bei ihrem Heimspiel in der ancora Marina auch noch die Winner 8 electric und die Winner 9 Speedlight im Programm haben. Immer wieder gern kommt die Rosättra Båtvarv mit ihren Yachten nach Neustadt. Mit einem langen Schlag nördlich von Stockholm bis in die Lübecker Bucht rauschen die Schweden mit der Linjett 39 und der Shogun 43 an, um die schmucken Designs auf dem ancora YACHTFESTIVAL in Szene setzen zu können. Einen fließenden Übergang zwischen Komfort und Sport bieten Italia Yachts, X-Yachts und Solaris. Dabei gibt es gleich einige Premieren in Neustadt zu sehen. Die Italia-Werft, die in den vergangenen Jahren für viel Aufsehen auf den Regattabahnen in Ostsee und Mittelmeer gesorgt hat, kommt mit der IY 9.98 und der IY 12.98. Für die größere Yacht ist es dabei die Premiere im Norden. Die 14-Meter-Yacht bietet ein ganz frisches Design der Werft.  X-Yachts aus Dänemark hat die X4.0, die X4.3 und die Xc47 am Start. Die neue Xc47 zeigt das dänische Verständnis für Blauwasser-Segeln mit Komfort und Performance.

Motorboats

The range of motorboats is even larger than that of sailing yachts and extends from small tenders to luxury yachts. The ZF 1 from Zar Formenti has a length of 3.35 meters to take its owner out on the water. In addition to the smallest offspring, four other boats from this tender family can be seen in Neustadt. Individual chic is not a question of size, as can be seen in both the 16-foot Ilensee 16 and the stately Marlow 72E from Judel/Vrolijk-Brokerage, which at almost 24 meters in length is one of the really big boats at the ancora YACHTFESTIVAL. But the almost five-meter-long gem from Schleswig also stands for noblesse. The Ilensee 16 demonstrates the high art of wooden boat building - a feast for the eyes - also a premiere.

Ein weiteres Debüt gibt der Luxury Tender von AVS Marine aus Herford. Wie auch die Palette der SeaRay Motorboot (190, 210, 250, 290) und die beiden Finnmaster Husky R6 und T6 werden die Boote an Land gezeigt. Die Besucher des ancora YACHTFESTIVALS bekommen damit einen perfekten Einblick in die verschiedenen Baumaterialien der kleinen Boote. Denn die Palette reicht hier vom Festrumpfschlauchboot, über GFK- bis hin zu Aluminium-Booten. Auch an den Stegen präsentieren sich die verschiedenen offenen Tender und Feststoffschalen-Schlauchboote, die sowohl für den Freizeitspaß als auch den Arbeitseinsatz der Rettungsdienste oder auch als Trainerboote geeignet sind. Die Hersteller reichen von Aquaspirit über Brig, Hydrolift, Iron bis hin zu Texas und Zodiac.

Among the motor cruisers, none of the well-known manufacturers are missing at the ancora YACHTFESTIVAL. Absolute yachts, Bavaria, Galeon, Princess and Nimbus all offer plenty of space for living and energy for pleasant cruising as well as a good overview, whether from the flybridge or from the fixed cockpit, and every comfort and equipment for your vacation. With Jeanneau, Karnic, Prestige and Wellcraft, Gründl Bootsimporte offers a wide range of manufacturers and sizes.

In dieser Klasse bringt Marex neben der 330 SC und 360 CC auch die 375 nach Neustadt. Skandinavische Lebensart zeigt sich in der Liebe zum Wasser in einer Yacht mit viel geschütztem Raum zum Leben und Genießen. Und Luxus auf bis zu 55 Fuß Bootslänge zeigt Sunseeker. Die Motoryachten sind schwimmende Appartements mit viel Privatsphäre.

Natürlich ist Beneteau auch bei den Motorkreuzern vertreten. Mit der Antares 7, 8 und 11 Fly, der Gran Turismo 36 und den Swift Trawlern werden die verschiedenen Konzeptideen der Werft zum 140. Geburtstag gezeigt – von Volumenboot mit Flybridge, über die Yachten mit klassischen Linien bis hin zum sportlich-eleganten Cruiser.  Der Einstieg in diese Form des Wassersports ist aber auch schon in der Acht-Meter-Klasse, etwa mit der Bayliner Ciera 8, möglich.

Wer auf höchste Seetüchtigkeit setzt, der ist mit Targa-Yachten aus Hamburg bestens beraten. Klassisches Design trifft hier auf Fahrkomfort. Bei der klassischen Travelleryacht Elling E4 wird Reisen zum Vergnügen. Pure Kraft entfaltet sich auf den Saxdor-Yachten, die mit ihrem kantigen Design echte Charakter-Köpfe auf dem Wasser und an den Stegen sind. In diese Kerbe schlagen auch Axopar, Quicksilver, Nordkapp und Navan mit ihren Yachten. Den Werften ist gemein, dass sie nicht nur charakteristisch eigene Yachten bauen, sondern die Boote auch höchsten Fahrkomfort bieten. Kantig, aber mit viel Volumen präsentiert sich die Navetta 58.

Mediterranean design can be seen on the Pardo 38, Fjord 41 as well as the Sterk 31 - fast, smart yachts that are ideal for cruising in style on day trips through the bays in the archipelago or the Mediterranean. The Zurich-based company Ganz Yachting, which is presenting the Ovation 7.6 in Neustadt, is also focusing on elegance.

Powerpartner Yamaha

Yamaha is providing a special driving experience in Neustadt. The engine specialist has ten different boats in the marina on which the Helm Master EX steering system can be tested. The steering system is the key to relaxed maneuvering in the harbour. This system really does make boating accessible to everyone. Yamaha has combined steering via the stern engines with the bow thruster in one system so that the boat can be maneuvered with two fingers on the joystick in the tightest of spaces. The skipper no longer has to switch and rethink between the different drives and controls. The Helm Master EX finds the optimum solution itself. Turning 360° on the spot by rotating the joystick is just as possible as parking sideways in a berth on the jetty by tilting the small stick.

Natürlich lässt sich auch die Geschwindigkeit der Manöver exakt taxieren. Hektische Aktionen im Hafen sind damit ausgeschlossen. Per farbiger Leuchtstreifen signalisiert das System, ob es gerade auf der Joystick- oder der normalen Steuerung über die Motoren läuft. Um diese Möglichkeiten auch dauerhaft zu gewährleisten, sind die Yamaha-Motoren darauf ausgelegt, ausreichend Strom für das Laden der Systeme zu liefern, so dass beispielsweise das Bugstrahlruder auch jederzeit einsatzbereit ist. Aber das System kann noch mehr, als nur im Hafen für entspanntes Manövrieren zu sorgen. Auch auf See ist das Helm Master System eine echte Erleichterung. Als Autopilot auf „Kurs halten“ eingestellt, peilt es den eingegebenen Zielpunkt an und gleicht automatisch den Versatz durch Strömung oder Seitenwind aus. Selbst ein GPS-gesteuertes Verharren auf der Stelle ist mit dem System möglich – also wie ein virtuelles Ankern. In Aktion zu bewundern, ist das Steuersystem von Yamaha auf den verschiedenen Motorbooten, denn das Helm Master EX ist für jeden Yamaha-Außenborder kombinierbar, der über elektronische Schaltung verfügt – so wie wie beim kleinen SUR Marine ST90 Classic oder den Festschalen-Schlauchbooten ZAR 95 und Capelli T 700. Auch auf den offenen Flitzern Buster Phantom, Yamarin D67 und Protagon 25, den kompakten Kreuzern von Jeanneau (MF 895 und 1095) sowie der Finnmaster P8 und auch auf der kraftvollen Sterk31 mit dem jeweils 350 PS-starken Doppelmotor kann die Joystick-Steuerung von Yamaha in Neustadt getestet werden.
